July 3rd through the 18th
July 7: At home for rest and recuperation. The shoulder/back issue is being tended to; I saw my chiropractor on Wednesday afternoon, and he determined that I had tweaked a rib. He believes that with a week of adjustment and rest, I should be good to get back on the trail. So I am moving forward as if that is a given, although we will be adjusting expectations as the week progresses.
It is fantastic to be home, if surreal. I have had some opportunity to get together with my dad and brother, and with some friends. The strangest parts are having a bed to sleep in, and not just any bed, the bed that means ‘home” to me; having a refrigerator with cold beverages, and access to wonderful, hot, homemade meals; and getting into the metal box with wheels (oh, right: a “car”) and traveling at unimaginable speeds!
I’ll update this blog entry as I get more information.
